Widener University’s Department of Athletics is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Esports Head Coach. This is a full-time, 10 - month appointment with the responsibilities to build, oversee and direct the Widener University Esports program. Additional duties within the department may be assigned.
Required qualifications include Bachelor's degree in a related field. The Head Coach will build, develop and manage an NCAA Division III Esports program in accordance with NAC, Middle Atlantic Conference, University guidelines and other related association rules and regulations. The Head Coach will also organize and execute training and event coaching responsibilities throughout the academic year. Additional duties within the department will be assigned.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, collegiate coaching experience and a valid driver’s license, demonstrable experience as an Esports competitor as well as coaching experience. Candidates should also have applicable experience in one or more of the following games; League of Legends, Hearthstone, Fortnite, Rocket League and Overwatch. The successful candidate should have experience in recruiting and retention of student-athletes and student-athlete academic monitoring. The candidate will also be responsible for the hiring and supervision of a qualified assistant coaching staff.
