Minnesota State University Moorhead Softball has an immediate opening for a part-time Assistant Softball Coach.
Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for assisting the head softball coach with on-field coaching, practice preparation, game planning and recruiting. Strengths of the assistant will determine alignment of work responsibilities, including positional coaching assignments (infield, outfield, pitching, catching, and/or offense). Off the field responsibilities may include social media oversight, development of marketing materials for recruiting and program happenings, online evaluation of recruits, scouting materials, project management, collaborating with other coaches or college faculty/staff, organize classroom sessions, attend softball staff meetings.
The salary for this position is $17,800.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Applicants must demonstrate willingness and capabilities to abide by NCAA and NSIC rules. Requires the ability to recruit, coach, and teach student-athletes in an academic setting. The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while producing high quality work is essential. Having excellent interpersonal and communication skills – orally, by phone, in person, and in writing - and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team is necessary. Also, the ability to problem solve, think critically, and seek professional development opportunities is needed and expected. Experience playing and/or coaching at the college level is preferred.
