Davidson College, a NCAA Division I school and member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Sports Information Director.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting the Sports Information staff with coverage of 21 sports; serving as the primary contact for volleyball, field hockey, swimming & diving and baseball -- sport assignments subject to change based on candidate; producing online team record books/media guides, game notes, news releases, statistics compilation; generating feature content video/stories and other unique coverage for DavidsonWildcats.com and Atlantic10.org; establishing and maintaining positive relations with media through strong interpersonal communication skills; staffing home and select away events; supervising student workers; assist in facilitating social media in line with department goals; other duties as assigned.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, sport management or a related field. Minimum of two years experience in a college sports information office or similar field.
Preferences Excellent communication and organizational skills; must posses good writing and editing ability; knowledge of AP style; proficiency in Desktop Publishing, Photoshop, Word and StatCrew statistical software; basic knowledge of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc).
