Carroll College invites applicants for a Director of Sports Information. This position will be responsible for the oversight of a comprehensive public relations program and serve as the primary media contact for the College’s 15-sport NAIA intercollegiate athletic program. Responsibilities for this full-time, 12-month position, reporting to the Director of Athletics, includes: serving as the athletic department’s communication representative to both internal and external constituents; providing oversight to the athletic web site and social media platforms; managing game-day personnel in the areas of web streaming, statistics, and table crew; maintaining complete historical records including photography and video archives for the athletic department; supporting athletic department’s special events and projects through the development of promotional materials; and assisting with the marketing and promotions of the athletic department.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications or other related field with a master’s degree preferred. Desired qualifications include three years’ experience in sports information or related field; familiarity with the sports of Football, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, Track and Field, Cross Country, and Golf and their associated statistics; working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, DakStats and StatCrew; web site development and maintenance; and web streaming production. Desired skills and attributes include: demonstrated excellence in sports journalism; refined oral and written communication skills; developed graphic design abilities; competent web designer; basic photography and videography skills; strong work ethic; high level of integrity and honesty; ability to work nights and weekends; attention to detail; highly organized; and effective at multi-tasking.
