The University of Bridgeport Softball program invites applicants for the position of Assistant Women's Softball Coach. Reporting to the Head Women's Softball Coach, the part-time Assistant Women's Softball Coach is responsible for carrying out assignments to assist in the coaching and management of the Women's Softball Team.
Utilize sound teaching techniques in the preparation of games and practices;
Assist with the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with the training unit to ensure that student-athletes are physically prepared for competition;
Assist the Head Coach in establishing goals, objectives, and values for the program consistent with mission of athletics department;
Assist with the regular practice sessions in and out of the season as permitted by the NCAA rules and regulations;
Assist in motivating student-athletes to perform to maximum levels;
Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA, East Coast Conference, ECAC, and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletic program;
Represent the University of Bridgeport and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality;
Promote and support the University of Bridgeport and its mission;
Promote and support the Athletic Department's program mission and goals;
Perform duties as assigned by head coach and/or Director of Athletics.
Assists in the recruitment and selection of student-athletes;
Assures compliance with NCAA regulations;
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree required;
Coaching and /or participation at collegiate level preferred; previous experience at the high school or club level with a demonstrated ability and passion to teach and demonstrate the skills of softball;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
Willingness to fundraise;
Ability to interact with all levels of the university community.
