Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, the Athletic Business Operations Manager executes the departmental business functions. Serves as budget officer for the Athletics Department by authorizing athletic expenditures and reimbursements and reviews them for adequate documentation and adherence to policy and budget constraints. Maintains necessary records and produces reports for the annual NCAA audit and the annual Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act report. Maintains records related to Athletics Department fundraising activities. Supervises check-in and checkout at annual auction and reconciles all revenues and expenses. Works closely with the Winthrop Foundation in reconciling Athletics revenues and expenses. Works with the ticket manager to maintain necessary records related to ticket sales and coliseum events. Reconciles and reviews credit card transactions monthly in Banner. Serves as liaison for all Athletics procurement card holders. Verifies funding and posts financial aid awards for student-athletes and managers. Interprets financial-related University and Athletics Department policies and provides guidelines to coaches and athletic administrators to ensure compliance with campus and state fiscal policies and procedures.
Basic knowledge and understanding of NCAA, conference and University rules and guidelines. Working knowledge of Excel
spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with administrative accounting software. Knowledge of accounting
principles and practices. Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations and analyze financial records; me
deadlines; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and establish and maintain good working relationships with athletic
staff, members of other University departments, students and the general public.
