RESPONSIBILITIES: Administer all components of sports information for Ohio University’s 16 sports, to include the communication and distribution of sports related information to local, regional and national media outlets, the Mid-American Conference and NCAA offices. Other responsibilities include game day media operations, preparation of game notes and maintenance of statistical information. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the creation and production of publications to include media guides and recruiting material, game programs and game day apps. Direct the social media platforms for the department and assist in content development for Bobcat TV (video/audio) and OhioBobcats.com The successful candidate will supervise an office of two full-time employees and student volunteers as needed. Frequent evening and weekend work required. Travel with sports as assigned.
Candidates must have outstanding leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to relate to wide diversity of faculty, staff, students and community members. Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. At least three years of experience in media relations, public relations or journalism is required and experience in intercollegiate sports media relations preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills required, along with the ability to work with deadlines. The preferred candidate will also exhibit excellent writing and editing skills, a basic understanding of terminology and statistics involved with college sports, demonstrated skill in desktop publishing and design (on a PC platform preferred) and an understanding of website management.
Master’s degree preferred. Significant experience in management and content development for social media platforms preferred.
