The Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics (PERA) Department is currently accepting applications for a part-time (.40 FTE/August-May) appointment as Assistant Coach of Women’s Lacrosse. The Department is seeking an individual with experience in working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their administrative, professional skills, leadership and service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community. This is a part-time faculty position that does not include benefits and is appointed on an annual basis.
Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program; including the planning and execution of successful and challenging practices, coaching during the non-traditional and traditional season, player development, game preparation, recruiting, scouting, fundraising and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Additional opportunities for compensation are available with oversight of youth lacrosse programs/clinics.
Start Date is August 1, 2018
Bachelor’s degree required. The successful candidate should have collegiate playing experience, leadership skills, role modeling, organizational, and interpersonal skills and have an understanding of NCAA Division III regulations. Experience using Front Rush recruiting software a plus but not required. The candidate should have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to multi-task and work autonomously. Hiring includes a full background check, a valid US driver’s license, as well as clearance to drive College vehicles required.
