University of Wisconsin-Platteville Athletic Department is seeking a part-time cheer coach. This position will supervise, coordinate and coach the cheer squad. The cheer squad is required at all home football, women’s basketball, and men’s basketball games and is responsible for leading cheers, engaging with fans, and assisting with fan engagement promotions. The annual stipend for this position is $4000.00. Essential Responsibilities: •Evaluate, identify and recruit quality cheerleaders within the University and NCAA policies. •Responsible for the coaching, teaching, planning and organization of all practices. •Supervision of the cheer team at all practices, contests, campus, and community events and trips. •Prepare team for participation at all home football, men's and women's basketball games (including winter and spring break) and selected events. •Recruit students for cheer team participation, including advertising and conducting tryouts. •Manage the annual operating budget and respective fund-raising gift account. •Implement fund-raising activities to support the operating budget. •Coordinate team travel if approved by Athletic Director •Compliance with all NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. •Experience in the technical aspects of cheer. •Strong interpersonal skills. •Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators and student-athletes. •Extremely organized, self-starter and self-motivated. •Availability to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends. •Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required.
Candidate will preferably have some collegiate cheerleading experience and will have at least 2 years of coaching experience at the high school level or higher.
The successful candidate will be AACCA certified as well as CPR/First Aid certified.
