POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will work under the leadership of the Vice President/Director of Athletics to carry out responsibilities related to the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; supervise a staff of four, including an assistant trainer and three graduate assistants; use and implement therapeutic exercise program and therapeutic modalities; oversee student-athlete insurance processes and work with local health care providers; maintain complete medical records in accordance with HIPPA; supervise and mentor clinical students; and adhere to NATA and state laws of practice related to athletic training’ other duties as assigned by supervisor.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of five years of collegiate athletic training experience, preferably in a supervisory position. Graduate of a CAATE program; BOC certified; eligible for state of Mississippi licensure; CPR/AED certified. Effective verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated capacity for accuracy and organization; sound interpersonal skills in working with student-athletes, parents, Departmental and University personnel; the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
