Provides coaching and administrative duties to support the Men’s Tennis program including:
Design and develop offensive and defensive systems and concepts and instruct student-athletes on these systems and concepts as well as rules and fundamentals of the game in order to develop the player and achieve personal and team goals Design, develop and implement practice and competition preparations and strategies Provide individual skill instruction, supervision, and motivation to student-athletes Foster an environment which develops the whole person Coordinate competition schedule in accordance with NCAA D1 regulations Oversee all scouting, recruitment and development of qualified student athletes for Men’s Tennis (domestic and international) Assist and collaborate with approved fund raising activities, as requested and proposed Operate the tennis program in compliance with NCAA rules and operating procedures Maintain accurate squad lists and other required NCAA forms Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches and student employees
Maintains and monitors information required for NCAA eligibility of each student athlete and informs the athletes on NCAA rules and regulations.
Work closely with Student Athlete Academic Services staff to monitor the academic performance of student athletes to assure graduation of the student athletes.
Work closely with Athletic Compliance staff in administering athletic grand-in-aid.
Maintain a close working relationship with the Sports Information Director regarding media relations, public relations, promotion, and awards to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the University.
Maintain a close working relationship with the Athletic Medicine staff in regards to athletic injury, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention.
Manage the budget for the Men’s Tennis program.
Contributes through departmental policies, procedures, and actions to University-wide gender equity and cultural diversity efforts and to foster a climate of multi-cultural understanding and appreciation.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of the Gonzaga mission.
