Assistant Coach, Men's & Women's Swimming, is a 12 month position that assists the Head Coach in recruiting, coaching and mentoring elite student-athletes for the varsity Men's & Women's Swim Team, and providing administrative and organizational support for the program. Coaching and mentoring duties include assisting in the organization and implementation of the team's training program and practices; preparation of athletes for competitions; and attending coaching clinics and lectures as assigned by the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach will also participate in recruiting activities including campus and home visits, phone calls, correspondence, evaluations of techniques, etc. The individual will undertake administrative duties to assist in the organization and hosting of competitions, and complete other administrative tasks as assigned by Head Coach.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of one year coaching experience at an elite NCAA level, or equivalent expertise is required. Excellent comprehension of swimming bio-mechanics and technique, understanding of computer databases and word processing programs, knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and ability to be an enthusiastic and charismatic leader are required. Must be able to work independently within the context of the program.
