Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution, member of the Missouri Valley Conference invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Development/Sales within the department of Athletics. This pre-professional, 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of $1,200 per month. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School and be prepared to begin working no later than July 2018. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: sales calls for season, group, corporate, and single game tickets; create and implement sales techniques; assist with increasing the Weisbecker Scholarship Fund monetary value through donations; create and implement strategies to increase donations; assist with graphic design in Adobe Photoshop to create flyers for promoting group ticket sales; plan events catered around athletic outings; host events during athletic outings; and other duties as assigned.
As a part of your responsibilities, you will follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football conference, the Athletics Department and Illinois State University.
Qualifications: Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree; eligibility for appointment per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook; graduate student at Illinois State University majoring in Recreation Administration, Sports Management or Business Administration. Preferred qualifications include: business background, background in fundraising and event planning, experience in sales, event hosting and Athletics.
