Ball State University is accepting applications for a professional position as Academic Coordinator of Student Athlete Support Services.
Major responsibilities: Provide academic support, advising, and general support coordination for all student athletes. Ball State University is located in Muncie, Indiana, on an attractive campus 45 miles northeast of Indianapolis. Approximately 22,000 graduate and undergraduate students enroll in one of eight academic colleges that offer 190 undergraduate programs. Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree by date of appointment.
At least one year of experience in education or related area.
Superior interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Proficiency with MS Software and ability and drive to learn other software. Must be flexible in regard to schedule with possible nights and weekends required.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in monitoring and arranging support for a diverse student population. Experience working with at-risk students at the collegiate level, preferably in an intercollegiate athletics environment. Experience in academic mentoring and developmental education. Experience with assessment of academic preparedness.
Experience with NCAA continuing eligibility. Counseling skills and knowledge of learning styles. Knowledge of Banner, Degreeworks, and/or GradesFirst.
