Purdue University Northwest is seeking to hire a graduate assistant to assist with their women’s soccer program in Hammond, IN. Responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of the women’s soccer program, including: •Practice organization and implementation •Attending all practices and competitions •Identifying and coordinating recruitment of prospective student-athletes •Abide by all written policies, procedures and guidelines of Purdue Northwest, the Department of Athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations. •Recruiting prospective student-athletes at high school games and club environments through phone and email •Assisting managing web-based recruiting software •Data entry (must be proficient with Microsoft Office) •Mentoring student-athletes to be their very best in the classroom, soccer field and the community. •Other duties as assigned
Position provides tuition remission to the university’s graduate program of choice and stipend, housing not included. Preferred start date is August 12, 2018.
Purdue Northwest Athletics consists of 200 student athletes and 13 sports and is a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and a provisional member of NCAA Division II. Intercollegiate athletic teams are fielded in men’s and women basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, softball and baseball. Purdue Northwest has recently developed new basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, baseball, and tennis facilities.
The candidate must have demonstrated success competing in soccer at the collegiate level and strong interpersonal communication skills; as well as mature, respectful, professional engagement and demeanor with student-athletes and University personnel. The candidate must also be accepted and enrolled into an accredited graduate program at PNW.
