Under general supervision, serve and fulfill the coaching duties for the sport assigned at California Baptist University (dance). Teach and build the aspects of the dance program that include game day preparation and performance, competition preparation and performance, choreography, recruitment, practice organization, training and/or strength training for athletic performance by executing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned. 1.Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department. 2.Organize, prepare, plan, coach and conduct individual and team practices, training, and competition using sound principles and judgment consistent with the philosophy of CBU Athletics. 3.Create dance workout programs and training routines to improve athletic performance. 4.Implement and supervise athletic training, strength, and conditioning workouts; provide technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport. 5.Participate in various fundraising, marketing, and promotion activities. 6.Coach all sport practices throughout the season, taking attendance at all practices. 7.Organize and coordinate game day plans with cheer coaches, pep band director, game management and facilities staff. Game day duties may include team coaching during Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holiday breaks. 8.Motivate team for maximum performance by utilizing motivational philosophies that meet the needs of the students and that are consistent with the CBU Athletic Program philosophy. 9.Display good sportsmanship in relationship with students, staff, officials and opponents as consistent with NDA policies regarding the principle of sportsmanship and ethical conduct. 10.Maintain up-to-date information of sport regulations, rule changes, CBU and NDA policies. 11.Effectively manage time in a demanding work environment. 12.Recruit and following up with qualified student athletes by phone, e-mail or through on campus visits. Within the framework of CBU, NDA and NCAA policies, recruit prospective student-athletes who are of the level necessary to be successful academically and athletically. 13.Be responsible for dance team video editing, photos and social media including game day promotions. 14.Assist with various program duties such as uniform ordering, scheduling, team activities, alumni events, game day/half time performances and other duties as assigned. 15.Organize dance clinics to be used for recruitment and/or to be performed at game day. 16.Adhere to all institutional, conference, NDA and NCAA by-laws and regulations. 17.Ensure the physical, emotional, and social welfare of student-athletes. 18.Establish and ensure a safe environment for student-athletes.

Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. ? Assist the head cheer coach in effectively arranging home and away contests according to conference, NDA and NCAA requirements and submit travel paperwork and NCAA pass lists on time.
